i know, its a great dilemma to have isn't it . know that im going to keep the i6 in it for a while, its more practical for me at the moment but a 429 would be awesome. oh and i was wondering, what could i do to make the i6 sound a little better, you know, more like a v8?

However, that said an I6 can have a distinct and pleasing sound all of its own just by changing the muffler. The more work done to the engine the better it will sound, so if its a stocky, dont make it too loud...People may laugh at you!.
We had 2 famous I6 race cars here in the early 70's. Chrysler Charger E49 R/T with triple webers on 265 engine was faster over the quarter than the top Ford 351 Cleve at the time. The GM product was the GTR XU1 Torana...also trible carb I6 202cubes. They were small, fast and handled better than the big Fords. All 3 can be seen still racing historics today and the 6's sound great.
A modern equivalent is hard to suggest as they all have ohc now...ever heard a Nissan GTR or BMW M3 at full noise???

oh and one more question, i dont plan on putting a v8 in for a while and i want to do the brakes asap. i was wondering if it would be ok for me to put the v8 spindels and such in and drive it like that for a while? i assume i would be fine but im no mustang expert so i wanted to see what you guys think.
