Default 1971 Tach cluster switch over

hey, i jave a 1971 stang that didnt originally have a tach. I bought a tach/cluster from a mach 1. I plan on putting this in soon. The tach has 2 wires( going to a plug) running out from the back of it. There isnt the other side of the plug in the mustang. Where should i run these 2 wires to, or where do they hook up?? -Jon

what colors are the wires?

I cant say for that mach1 setup...mustve joined the loom somewhere, but normally there are several wires.

red = to a positive power source (usually like the ignition switch so it only comes on when the car is running)
black = earth
blue = to the negative terminal on the coil

one or more pairs to the iluminating light in the tach.

not much help sorry.

Looked in the book, and found it! The Male side goes to a 12V power source and the female side goes to the + side of the coil! -Jon
