Sorry to tell you but that is a good price for what it has in it for parts. The block is very good. only the Ford R block is better, $2000. The rest is also good stuff. Its sounds like its not a roller block but if you already have an older engine than adjusting the lifters isn't a suprise. You can make decent power with GT-40 heads but spend a little money in them and they can be very good. You can buy a new build but might be getting lower quality parts for that price..

if your not making over 500hp then theres no need to have a beefed up block a main girdle will even things out and the engine in the link compressions way too high
