so thumpin cats don't do it compared to 64.5-66 stangs however if i had only a choice between a 67-68 coupe and a cat the cat would win. Plus the 70-80 cat there were so ugly

Hey Thumpin' - what's the story on the '69 Charger in the background???

not wanting to hijack the thread, but heres an answer.

The story on that is its a 1970 Charger 500 with a 383 2barrel, 727 trans and 8 3/4 open rear. Drum brakes all around and it stops like crap. It was my brothers first car, my dad had it painted for him back in 84. two weeks after we got it back from the paint shop, my brother and I were headed to a youth group activity for our church. We got done with that around 7pm, he decided to attend a party out in a cornfield miles from anywhere. He got pretty drunk, it was about 20F that night, so I didnt have much choice but to ride back with him. While following my cousin in her Toronado, she stopped at the bottom of a hill, my brotehr ran into the back of her. I got my face *customized* and lost some teeth. My teeth imprint is still in the dashboard. They rebuilt it over the next two years, dad got my brother a 69 Charger to drive while his was down. He trashed the 69, putting a dent in every panel on it, and beat it within an inch of its life. After he drove the 70 for about a year, they couldnt keep it cool on the road, so it was parked.

Fast forawrd to ten years ago. My brother borrowed money from my dad, he didnt pay it back. My dad took the car instead. Now its my dads car and its just sitting for the time being. Dad is looking for a 64 Sport Fury like he had back in the 60s. The 70 charger needs some cosmetic work, could use a rebuild on the 383, and some mechanical attention and fluids. Chances of my dad selling it? Maybe if you have around $20k to spend on a car a 17-19 year old drove almost twenty years ago.

Worst part about that car is its green with a green interior and only has a 2 barrel carb. I might drag it up here and do a mechanical restoration on it. the only thing keeping me from doing it is my brother would want it back then. He should never have it back after what he did with it and to it.

Shifty that is EXACTLY what I need! Dont need the housings, cuz I can reuse the ones I got, and just the boards are perfect for what I need. Dont you Mustang guys wish your cars were as cool as Cougars are?

Two chunks of wood make awesome shackles.. dont they? Its a long story how they got in there in the first place. They wont be making a comeback, a factory set will replace them. The Cougar is gonna sit rather low this time around...

The Charger? Um if he sold it, and I doubt he would, like $20k.. not kidding either. its in nebraska, and far enough from anything that unless you know where its at, you wont find it. kinda like the island in Pirates of the Carribean..
