Knew a guy years ago in Virginia Beach had a cammer in a 1959 Ford Custom, you know the stripped down sedan. He had it and the NASCAR 4 speed. He ran the exhausts so the one side was where the stock 292 Y-block would have been and tucked the second one up where the quarter panel hid it. Cammers were noisy and smoked a little, so most peolpe figured it was just another old 292 with lots of miles on it. His comment was, "anything I can't outrun in a drag, I will pass top end." Only real run he had was a fellow with a Pontiac 421 super duty stuffed in a 1938 Pontiac. He worked night shift here in the shipyard and we rode a bus together from Virginia Beach while I was on night shift. Those were awsome engines!
110 octane will be around alot long than youd think...every where in america has local racing, and all of these cars need high octane race fuel. the 428 like's that stuff too.
