can anyone help me with my problem. when i start the car it does not idle but quickly dies, i can keep it running if i rev it. i do not think it is the carbourator but please help me

Well, on the drivers side of your carb there is a idle screw on the linkage, Turn that in till it turns the throttle up part way. Start the car, get out, then it will be idling HIGH, after that, adjust it back down to a normal idle. It may be that your idle is set wrong but thats only one case. -Jon

Check the manifold for open vacuum leaks.

i finally got it running! thank you guys for all your help. i guess you cant trust a person after a free rebuild, because it ended up being clogged jets and stuff.
