that is wierd. My car has the stock 8 inch with 2.80 gears. It only spins the passenger side wheel, unless it's really spinning, then the driver side starts spinning. Well, at least, i've heard my driver side spin under certain conditions. So with that shift kit, you got more control over shifts? Why does it start out in second in drive though? What does it do when you start out in the gear that already starts out in second?

second is second. drive = starts in second. if im driving on the highway and im in drive and i down shift to second it shifts to second but if i shift to low it stays in second till its safe to shift to first. it starts in second cuz in first if i give it too much gas the tires spin really easily and for when im just cruizin around you cant tell a dif startin in second now that i have mroe power. when i go cruizin with my buds i leave it in first so i can screech when i feel like it and manually shift to second (im a show off). if im at a stop light, put it in low you feel it right away, you can feel the car pulling more. floor brake, rev to 2200 ish (light launch) floor it take foot of brake at same time, get sideways, then shift when i need to, keep runnin it up in second, shift to 3rd let off. lots more control i feel. takin a uturn yesterday i got the *** end WAY OUT it was awesome[8D] dropped it into low = instant smokeage

lol, I never power brake. It just feels..... wrong. However, LOW acts the same as it does as a standard C4 right? Because when i shift to low, it's shifts to second.... then when it reaches 20, it shifts to first. If i start out in low, it stays in low til i put it in drive. Then it shifts to second, then i put it back in low fast. This acts like a manual shift car almost. Just no clutch.

It's cleaned up and ready to put on...just as soon as I replace the lifters and get the rockers readjusted. I'm wishing I had a heater in my garage right about now.

colorado, what happened to that torker i sent you? how did it turn out!? -Jon
Mine will spin both rear tires with my open rear end. It depends on the power and how it's applied. I've been down the 1/4 many times and only a very few number of times did I have just 1 wheel spin vs 2.

The reason i wanted a shift kit was to squeak tires during shifting. My impala has 10 wide tires on the back, and the TH350 would squeak shifting into second at like 40 mph... it was adjusted to do that.

sounds like shift kits are the real deal. Where can I find one for a FMX? I heard they're harder to find....

OMG! now i cant wait to get what i am going to get for my engine.
im going to get:

timing gears
camshaft bearings
302 ford racing camshaft
holley fuel pump
water pump
hipo oil pump
rod bearings
main bearings
exhaust manifold
transmission mount
motor mounts
302 gasket set
rod bearings
nothing really hiperformance but when its done, i bet its going to have some get up and go, and the timing gears, they make it sound turbo charged. going to be so sweet. a friend of mine said the first time i drive this car it should scare me, and he said if it dont scare me, something is wrong with me.

later on down the line when i get more money after spending all this ( $700 ) i want to get more performance parts:
air gap edelbrock intake
holley 650 carb ( i have a 600 want a little bit bigger )
hipo air filter
suspension

wish i had more money

congrats man! keep us updated! you just inspired me to get my engine done and my car running again!
