the beam type is out dated but ull still need it for wheel bearings because a modern click type wrench cant do a rolling torgue reading thats needed to seat new bearings so dont throw it away

Beam type torque wrenches are very useful and are far from out of date. If you want to get real technical, every bolt will have a running torque specification which can only be measured with a beam or dial torque wrench. This is where lubing the bolts as previously mentioned comes into play.
