I have a 66 coupe. I dont really like the style of the dash pad for the 66 but I love how the 65 pads look. I was wondering if i could fit a 65 pad in a 66 ?? please help i need to buy soon.

 

I could be wrong, but I think they're the same iirc.

I know that in my NPD book, they offer the pad in year sections. 65-66 are the same.

 

No, they are not the same. The 66 has little "ears" that run alongside of the radio. I suppose if you could fill in those holes the 65 might fit.

 

well im wondering if the dash under the pad is the same? because the 65 fits nice in the 65 mustang but will it look the same in the 66 or did they change the dash under there to put the ears?

 

You would also need the trim pcs that go around the bottom of the dash pad on the 65 - you would have to find those on the used market as nobody makes repos

 

Ah - yes.

The pad will be molded w/out the little ears for the 65'. So just fill the holes in.

And, you can fill those holes in. I did it because I went with an aftermarket stereo and I wanted a clean look. Just scuff it up and throw some mud on it, mine looks great.
