Default 68' Hinge rebuild?

New hinges are expensive! My driver’s side door needs a little help these days. My main issue is that it swings completely open unassisted. My passenger side door will stop where you want it to.

My question is, has anyone purchased the rebuild kit for the 68' hinges, and what success did you have?

Thanks,
Deebo

Default RE: 68' Hinge rebuild?

I purchased mine from CJ Pony and had great success with the rebuild of the hinges, The hardest part was lining everything back up. It definitely helps having someone giving you a hand. I did mine while I was doing bodywork to the door. The process of the rebuild was cake. I knocked out the pin , cut the new one to the same length as the old one, knocked out the bushing and reassembled. The door stays where you put it and there is no up and down play anymore.

Good Luck.
