Need help metal works

2 questions how do i get the remaing radiator supportoff cleanly from the front support? i got most of it off with a torch


How should i go about patching these small holes in the dash? that hacked hole in the dash is covered up by a radio faceplate btw

Grab the grinder...it takes some time, but is pretty clean. You may want to cover those hoses up first though...

thats alot of metal to grind though the radiator support is tack welded to that front frame

I understand about the amount of metal...but short of a plasma-cutter, that would be the cleanest. If I remember right, there are too many spot-welds in that area to try to pick them out and drill them...not to mention structural integrity if you drill through...[:@]

I use an air chisel to seperate factory spot welds like that. They arent too expensive and you will find they work for a bunch of diferent tasks. You dont need a huge air compressor to run them either, just be sure to wear gloves and eye protection while using it. I have caught cars on fire with grinders, cutters, torches and other flame/spark creating devices, so I tend to use my air chisel alot. Its a cheapie I got from Menards..lol.. it works okay too.

Be carefull and go slow, you dont need to rip right through everything on the first cut, take small bites and you will find you can be very accurate with it.

Or just keep grinding...
