ignition kill switch
My old '65 GT came with a cutoff switch that was inside the ashtray. You open the ashtray and the switch pointed down out of the bottom of the dash. If he didn't point it out to me when I bought it, I don't think I would have ever found it.

Ok I understand the concept on the fuel shut off valve. Seems simple enough...
What I would probably do is have an ignition shut off switch somewehre in the interior of my car well hidden for the semi-safe/not so safe neighborhoods, then the fuel shut off if I had to park in a neighborhood I completely wouldn't trust. All our cars are pretty desirable so they should be well protected!

I put a switch in the top of the left kick panel way back towards firewall,,the toggle switch is setup for between the neg wire and the neg post of the coil,,works good and I can't bump it
My fuel cut off switch is under my dash and it is hidden enough to where I have to search for it to click it.
From what I under stand most modern cars with electric pumps have to have a fuel cut off switch(like Soarings) that it triggered by a collision. This ensures your wreck does not turn ito a BBQ. I like the idea of using it as an anti theft device too.

One of the tricks my father-in-law taught me year ago, was to modify the back of the cigarette lighter with a RTO (return to off) switch and then wire in line between the key ignition and the solenoid. You activate the switch by pushing in the cigarette lighter, but you must turn the ignition key at the same time. parts are readily available at any generic auto parts store. Very similar to the ashtray trick posted earlier.
