ok, where are good places to find these, i believe i akready hav one installed, but i hate it, the wires are all messy and i just dont wanna touch it, im just gunna rip it out when i go through the wiring. what is a good swotch to buy? i was looking at this battery kill switch from moroso on yearone. could i use that? also if i order form yearone do you think they will send me a free hat and/or stickers?[8D] im collecting those.....

Ignition kill switches can be dangerous because you can accidently hit the toggle while driving. A better idea is a fuel shut-off switch located in the trunk.

 

where does one purchase this fuel shut off switch? and if someone was to steal the car, doesn't that get them a little ways before the fuel in the line is uses up?

 

If you put the switch in the trunk how would that help you? have to open the trunk to flip the switch... or do you mean the cutoff in the trunk, and the switch on the dash or something?

 

i want a switch under my dash so you cant see it and when i egt in the car i can reach under and flip the switch and then try to stsart the car

 

Yes, the thief would get it started and drive it about a block then the car would die. Ford Mustangs today have the fuel cut-off switch in the trunk. I know it sounds like an **** thing and a lot of trouble, but I only use mine on the 03 Mach when I am parking in what I would consider an unsafe place. Understand though, that this is in addition to the anti-theft siren that bursts your eardrums. If a thief wanted to steal my Red Mustang, they could, but they had better know something about electronics and know that the fuel cut-off is in the trunk, and God knows how they would get into the trunk without screwing up the trunk lid. Here is what that fuel pump cut-off switch looks like in my Mach, but the fuel pump is electric. I would think you could rig a shut-off valve inline with the hose going from the sending unit to the main line, but routing it to the trunk first.

ya know, soarings right, sure the switch under the dash is convenient and it looks cool, but the trunk switch is probably alot safer

Get you some 1/2" OD fuel line hose that is long engough to go into the trunk in the well, then put in a turn-off valve something like a natural gas valve, or a water valve, then run the hose back to the main line where it used to hook directly up to the sending unit. What you are creating is a shut-off valve for the gas that comes from the tank, and if the thief doesn't suspect you have a shut-off valve in the trunk, they will cuss your car like a sailor and abandon it about a block from your house. You can run the two hoses through the hole in the well where there is a rubber plug, then goop it shut with some tar or undercoating so water doesn't get into the well.
