Default 0-60?

k guys heres the deal, my buddy just got a brand new 3.5l infinity g35 automatic with triptronic auto/manual. we were testin it out on an open road and managed a best of 7.5 seconds 0-60 and this is on our 3rd run out of 5, hes new to the trip tronic i had to show him what to do. well my car, 1965 mustang with a 289 v8, 4 barrel 650 cfm holley carb, edelbrock performer rpm airgap intake, shift kit, headers, dual exhaust...that it for now, what would yall estimate its 0-60 time? i might be getting a camshaft and or gears soon (still live with parents, it depends on my dad really) with what i have now what wuold you guys say 0-60 time would be? (sport shifting the auto) and what would i need to be a little faster or to be low to mid 7s?

idk, A stock one is 10 seconds. Thats what i've managed with my 289 2v with upgraded ignition and duel exhaust. A 4 barrel and intake wont add much. the headers help, and the shift kit helps. Im thinking depending on his rear end gear, he's around 8. unless he's got a taller gear then 2.80.

Better yet Emperor.... Take out you car, and see what your 0-60 time is, it's not hard.

yea you will. I'd actually go with a cam first, before the gears. My reason is, with the stock cam, your redline is pretty low. I dont like going over 4500 RPMS, but it can take alittle more. With a new cam, your redline would be higher, so taller gears wont affect your top speed too much.

What's the point of upgrading your cam when you're heads are still stock?
