Default Tires?

What kind of tires would be best for my 1965 Mustang GT? I thought about Pirelli P6000 Sport Tires. What do you think?

Depends on the car. Touring tires are great on some, drag radials for others, even mudders for a few. How you use the determines what tires to use.

I have the Cooper Cobra GT tires on my car, and for the money, they are great tires.

I am running BFG TA s, 215 70 R14 on 67 they work finefor me , they aren't real big but look Ok to me. I not much on cornering but hard off the line , they grab pretty good and the ride is good.

There are a lot of good brands out there to include Pirelli's. Personally, I like the looks of my Goodyear Eagle GTII's raised white letter tires. They have around 30,000 miles on them and I have rotated them a couple of times, and they still have at least 30,000 miles left in them.

Had good luck with Firestones, so so luck with Kumho (they be cheap cheap) but the Goodyears have been great, for $1000 a set they should be too. Eagle F1 in 295 45 17 on the Formula and they suck in snow. For inexpensive tires I like the Firestones, good wear and decent traction. BFG makes a good tire too, they smoke really nice since they are soft, but they dont last quite as long as a set of Firehawks or Eagles.

I am thinkin Goodyears or Firestone on the Cougar, no clue what size yet but they will be big. none of this 215 stuff.. not even for the fronts.

I have had my yokohama AVS ES100's for a couple years now and I am very impressed with performance. They are a pretty sticky tire when you warm them up, and tread wear has been phenominal (keep in mind however my 65 is not a DD). In may I will be switching the rears to Nitto 555R drag radials to get the thing ready for the track.

I am trying kuhmo's out for the first time right now on my 92 5.0 DD, and so far they are showing excellent treadwear (I already have close to 10,000 on them and haven't lost any tread depth) They are Kuhmo SPT's by the way.

i know some might not like anything but the superbig names, i tried out some Federal S595's on my new rims just to get some tires on them so i could put them on my car since they were inexpensive....they have actually been very nice....great grip for cornering and stuff....i havent really tried smoking them so i cant comment on that really....that model is the top tire from Federal though i think....

i havent driven on them lately since my car has been in dry dock for a while but before that they were nice.
