Default need advise on this swap

Hey hows everyone doing....been a while since ive posted and im still looking on what to do with my 1966 mustang... it is a 6 and everything is stock......i was tlaking to a mechanic that can find me a roller motor rrom 1990 or something but the mechanic is beating around the bush with me so i kept looking and i found this car..(this is what the guy told me)

its a 1986 car that was originally a 4 cylinder and they swapped it for a 302 from an 89 GT. Well he said the 302 was bored out into a 306 and has a "HEAT 303 cam" 373 gears.., holy 650 double pump carb, msd distributor and ignition, a hurst short shifter, and was supposidely set up for NOS but was never used..HE says the car is a 12 sec carso i would imagine its powerful. anyways the enigne has less than 20,000 miles and hasnt been started in a while....HEs selling the car for $1,800.

I think its a good deal but i wanted some opinions too.....i want to take anything from the car as posible to put into my car...What kind of parts can i use for my 66? Can i use suspension brakes anything like that ?and what do you guys think about the engine?sounds like a deal?

THanks everyone i appreciate anything you guys send my way, here are some picture of the engine...

Will he let you test drive the car? If you feel then engine is good, it will make a great donor. You can take out the engine, trans and a few other goodies to make your swap. Since it is a carb'ed engine, you dont have to deal with the wiring harness.

You will have to do a complete upgrade on your suspension. the stock front suspension on a 64-68 6 cyl mustang wont work too great with the added weight of the V8.
you will also have to upgrade the rear end to at least an 8" to handle the new power. That or get the 8.8 that is in the fox body mustang modified to work with the 66's rear suspension.

If it were me and that engine was in good shape, I would do that swap.

heck no buy a 96-97 explorer motor for 500$ sell the intake to a 5.0 guy(make a hundred) sell the throttle body to a 5.0 guy(10-40$ maybe?) sell the injectors(?) etc.

buy a e303 cam advance it 6degs and have a nice engine for 650$ and if u need a carb and intake etc buy one for a grand you will have a 300hp motor

the explorer is a gt40 headed motor(same heads as the 93-95 cobras, lightnings) they are the best flowing 289/302/351w head from the factory even better than the fabled 69-70 351w

but then again if the tranny good maybe?? but thats a maybe? a 12 second 5.0 isnt that hard with gears and a good driver
