Default Throttle Linkage problem

The other day, someone mentioned that my throttle linkage needed a new collar, so I ordered one from Texas Mustang. Well, it came in yesterday, and when I went to put it on, I found that the original one was still good, but the hole in the throttle bar was just too big for it. It is the same size as the one I got from Texas Mustang. So, am I missing a part? Picture 1 shows the hole, pic 2 shows the collar in the hole and how much space needs to be taken up, pic 3 shows the new part, and pic 4 shows what may be a solution. The new part fits snugly inside that 1/2" od tubing which fits nicely inside the big hole, and Wallah! No slack left. I just have to cut the hose so it's only about 1/8" long. Is this a fix, or do I need to order another part?

I think it would be a rubber washer type thing with grooves cut on the outside edge, and it presses inside the big hole. But, I don't know because it has never been on the car since I have owned it. Would some of you pony years guys look at yours and let me know what I am missing, just in case Atom's 67 is different? BTW, I just got back from the garage after cutting the hose and sliping it in the hole with the collar inside it. It works like a champ.

There should be a nylon bushing inside of a rubber shell which fits into the linkage. Your cut piece of hose essentially simulates the rubbershell that you appear to be missing. You could order a new one if it bothers you, but unless yours is binding, it appears that you're good to go!
