Has anyone ever bought anything from posi_dawg on yahoo auctions - they are selling 8" posi for $495? Can anyone make any recommendations - I have a C4 tranny and don't know what gears (probably go with 3.4 or 3.55 gears in the posi - what is everyone else running?)??? Thanks

 

is it the entire pumpkin or just a posi unit? Never heard of the people so I would be sure to find out what brand of stuff they are using for the posi and gear set. 3.55's are a good gear...you'll feel performance gains without loss of freeway driveability.

I'm running 3.80's with a 4-sp TopLoader and 302.

A good LSD by itself will run that much. If you're getting an entire 3rd member for that price, I'd be very scared.

 

There is a vintage mustang place in LA that has posi 3rd members for $650. I see the MAE truetrac are about $789. Do you guys think that I will need the truetrac for 300ft/tq or would a 4 pinion posi unit be sufficient? I don't really plan on racing the car so I don't plan to go over maybe 350hp at most so the 4 pinion for $589 sounds better. Are the "clutchless" truetrac that much better? Should I step up to Auburn??
