After readjusting the distributor to assure proper position the car fired up and idled rough because the fuel pump diaphram was probably not working right because of the length of sitting time. The engine runs fine and has an oil pressure of around 60 psi with no oil leaks or water leaks at all. Boy I guess I was lucky!!!! The engine was prepped before it sat around for the last 10 years.

Why wouldnt it? If its inside out of the weather and you dont have high humidity or salty air from the coast, it should last quite a while. I have engines been sitting for over 30 years, when we pull the pan nothing is wrong with them. The 4V Cleveland has been together since 97 and never run, still spins freely. It will get prelubed before it gets started.
If it doesnt have any air moving through it, then all you need to worry about is condensation if you live in a place where it gets cold enough to freeze. Even then its minimal if everything has a nice coat of oil, but none sitting in the pan. if it sits that long in the bottom, its going to have a thick layer of sludge. not good for an oil pump.
