get a durapark 2 dist with a mallory 6a box and you can get a coil cheap online also and that would kick the pertronix *** for a little bit more money

isnt 7mm wires kinda cheesy though?
I got mine in black as I'm going for the stock look. I've the 8mm red wires on there now... I decided i'm gonna be a slave to the resto with only exceptions for safety (ie seatbelts, dual brake resivoir)

i was talking about the fact that they are only 7mm...... and i guess the fact that nobody i know buys their wires on the premise that their wires are good. i have no idea, they may be top notch, i just never hear anything about them.

now MSD, or Taylor - its common knowledge they make kick *** wires

Wow! Sounds like Pertronix is the way to go for the stock look. I want to stay as stock as possible. I am going to check ebay for the Pertronix II. I already have the 7mm wires so I should be good to go.

When you look at my engine bay, you would never know I have the pertronix in it. It doesn't have that big assed MSD box tacked to the fender apron with aftermarket wires running everywhere and a distributor that glows in the dark. The pertronix will give you more than enough fire power to handle any engine other than the most powerful 400hp and up engines.

and if you get a black coil you can just pull the sticker off, or turn it upside down (sticker towards the block)

Need to get out the trusty spray paint. The top of the coil should be yellow, and the rest is black.

I've been looking into getting a Pertronix system to replace my original points system. I see there is a Pertronix and Pertronix II. Is the number II worth the extra money? Also should I get the coil that goes with it? One has 40000 volts and II has 45000 volts. What is the best option for a 1971 351C. What are the benefits.
How much HP are you running and going to run? The reason why I ask, is because I built up my 351C and my weak link ended up being the distributor. I finally replaced it with a MSD unit when it failed. With that said. I bought a pertronix first. It was great. You don't need the coil, but it will help you take adavantage of the cleaner path that the pertronix provides.

Here is mine during the process of installing it. After I got her running, I used black heat shrink so you see nothing but a black wire going into the distributor.
