that's clean, I might just get the black, or for just a little bling get the chrome one.... I'm leaning to just the black and going for as little chrome as possible, maybe paint the cap red to match the valve covers I'm getting....hmmmmm....
glen do you have A/C in that??

Yeah, it has the factory unit in it. I upgraded to the 134A a few years ago, but the old original York compressor is just about shot. It makes all kinds of noises, so is impossible to turn on in town. I plan to upgrade to a Sanden unit this spring.
yeah me too, when I get around to it, I figure since the condenser is shot, and well R134a is waaay easier to find I'll just sell the factory unit to someone who wants to build a show car and then install the new unit. Besides I'm planning on moving back to Tejas soon anyway and I don't want to deal with the humidity.
Yep.... that's exactly what I did... .sticker OFF *check*. Now I just need to get some yellow paint for the top.
Oh and maybe clip those long *** wires from the distributer to the coil.... I never did do that.

if you can find it, check out duracool instead of r134
its safe for the enviroment, produces cooler temps, and runs on lower pressure which i imagine extends the life of the compressor, and is compatible with either type of oil (if memory serves). i used it in the wifes contour when i had to replace a leaky hose - it works great.

i just pulled my ignitor II and flamethrower II coil, i must have had the bad one out of the box. When it ran, it ran fine, when it didn't. poo
I went back to points this week since i needed it to be dependable. I am leaving for california in 2 days and it needed to run well. when i have more time and more patience, i'll give it another shot. I've heard good and bad about 'em and i just figure i got a dud.

That is the positive wiht points, easier to fix if you break down along side the road. An extra set of points is cheap to carry around in the glove box, and all you absolutely need to replace them is the proper sized screw driver. You can estimate on the dwell (gap) to get it in the ball park and get you going. If your electronic ignition goes, that's all she wrote, because they are not dirt cheap andare affected by heat making it much more difficult to carry an extra around in the glove box.
