wow, so many replies! sorry to disappoint you, but you may have to wait a bit. currently the only model i have done is the 67 fastback. next will come the 65-66 models, then i will move on besides that. right now im going to keep it to mustangs. because its hard to get perfect side / front / back pictures (that i use as a sort of blueprint) it takes quite a while to make these models. i think the fastback probably took me a week to model. im definitely no professional, and since i dont work on this all day, it can take a while. its just a hobby, but since i learn new things every time, im sure i will get quicker and quicker. im sure things will pick up once i go back to college this weekend, since all that is on my mind is classic rock, girls, and cars. so, all of your requests will definitely be posted on here, first come first serve, but first i gotta model most of them!

and mayh3m: ill post some wireframes up tomorrow, no problem!

haha i sent you a PM plainsmen, as well as the other people who sent me one

a question i have for all of you,

where do you work on your mustangs? as in how much space does it really take? i have a small garage that i will be completely cleaning out this spring and a basement where i could do work on parts. my mom however is trying to convince me that unless i have a 1000 square foot garage ill never have room to work on a car.

Man, you've got some skills with max. Too bad you aren't closer to Cali, I would put you to work with some of the design stuff I do. Great Renderings!

my shop is big. but I have built 11 second street cars in a one car detached garage with no heat or electricity. I had to use a small propane heater, put plastic up on the ceiling to hold in some heat, and run some 50' extension cords from the house just to work at night and have light since it only had two small windows.

If you are doing a ground up resto you need ROOM... a huge amount of space is needed to hold all the tools, parts and the car with enough room to work around it. My shop is 32'x48' with 12' roof. It just got insulated on the bottom of the rafters, the woodstove can heat it up to around 45-50F when its 10-20 outside now. it needs to be that warm to spray primer and apply filler, otherwise the stuff never sets.

There is enough room for the Cougar, the 71 fastback, all the parts for both of them, most of my tools, and enough room to bring another car in to work on it. just did the brakes and oil on the winter beater. Next need to get a 4x4 running and legal so I can get around when the woman is in college.

You dont need that much room, all you need is something to keep the weather off. Before August 05, I lived in an apartment, had 5 cars there, plus a trailer. Built a low ten second street car, and did some transmission swaps in the parking lot when it wasnt raining. Where there is a will, there is a way. having a garage and a basement would have been a huge plus to me then. Tell mom you wont keep transmissions in the bathtub, the pinion gear wont be in the freezer for long, and the garage will keep most of the parts... Just dont ask my dad anything.. He has around 20 vehicles stored for me on the farm... plus engines, transmissions, assorted parts, and well a bunch of stuff.... dont mention that to her....

yeah...if you want it bad enough, u can make it happen. i have two of the three car garage. a wall built dividing the first garage from the second two garages, where my car is. ceilings are kind a low, bad lighting, and as much as i try to keep it uncluttered and wide open as possible, everyone seems to see it as a dumping post or a storage locker.....my blood boils when boxes of crap are stacked on my car or my dad decides he needs to bring the bbq inside and put it right in the middle of the room so i can barley get to my car without climbing around stuff since it could possibly rain......oooh no...a little water on your stainless steel bbq (supposed to be corrosion resistant) and why does it have that big fitted cover over it? to keep the air off of it while its inside?

sarNz,
Given that could have a typical 8 hour work day to do one model of a vehicle, about how long would you say it takes for you to from start to finish, to get one of these renderings done?

You have some very valuable CAD skills, do you go to school at all for design or computer modelling? Excellent work.
