again, i love all these responses! thanks very much. ill let you know that i was busy today working on the model. i modeled some old school wheels and tires for it, and have learned a few things about improving the renders too! tomorrow i should be able to get quite a bit done, so youll be sure to see an update. and sorry im jumping all over the place with them, but eventually ill have all the models done!

fastback ford: those are great pictures, especially the 2nd. nice and big. that is a nice piece on there too, modeling that would be quite easy!

6mustang6: if you can, both of them would be great, since i totally lacked reference for those. not many people like to get up and look down on their car haha.

mayh3m: yeah, ive tried to start with a box and kind of shape it, but going poly by poly just seems easier. ive seen some very impressive stuff come out of rhino but i cant do it haha.

fuzzydice: sure is! like anything else it takes practice but its not so bad.

ez: that makes me very happy to hear that. now its just convincing the mom to let me get one in there haha. she says if i wait till i graduate shell get me a nice one, but i want to learn to do all the work myself. so maybe she can just dump me all the funds when i graduate!

but anyways, updates will come tomorrow! i think you will be pleased by the new renders.

WAYYY COOOLLL!!! I've also got some super hi-res photo's that I can send to you directly - they are too large to upload here. The yellow '65 Mustang is my wife's and I'd like to superimpose the light blue paint job and the lighter color stripes from the '67 onto her '65 to see what it would look like. Can you do that and make it look good???

I do all my work in the equivalent of a one car space. It's tight and I spend a lot of time on my back and sometimes I have to pull the car out of the garage and turn it around so that I can have room to work on it. You can make it work anywhere if you want to bad enough. (Heck, I remember a fellow painting his car in the parking garage at a Home Depot ... Scary!)

this is very impressive
the only thing that strikes as missing is the gas cap.
here are the 64-65 model left and the 66 on the right for reference. I'll see if I can take a picture of mine. it's nearly new ...

thanks! that should be very easy to model
after i do the interior pretty good, i will chop the roof into the fastback version. and doing a convertible shouldnt be too hard either! making it fold on the other hand...
these are the details i want to get done tonight:
side mirror
door handles
finish the seats
gascap
wipers
emblems

i think that is all thats left for the outside. and for the inside its just putting the gauges in, other ***** and buttons, and doing the floor and doors.

yo thats pretty cool. but ya the amount of work space require all depends on the car you will be working on. assuming that since you are in the classic forum section you would be working on a classic iwould recommend a 1-2ba garage. a 1ba only if its widened so that you can fit all the tools and still not feel cramped while being able to remove and bring in old and new parts as needed. a 2ba or more is a must for a complete restoration or else you will never be able to deal with all the equipment you need and the parts that will be bought and stored then used as you progress through the restoration. maybe you will use a rotis. or something. but yeah def a 2ba at least for a complete restoration in my opinion.

keep up the nasty work looks like something on like xbox 360 or something.

hows this gascap look? heres the stang in ivy green. only think missing on the back is the chrome ring around the exhaust outlets and the trunk lock.

70stang: what is a ba? call me an idiot lol. its a pretty damn small garage, but i also have a shed and a basement for storage. in the garage theres lots of crap up in the rafters that will be coming down for the big 'empty this 15 year old crap from the garage, make a little money, and hopefully put a mustang in for eric to work on' tag sale.

the reason im leaning towards an i6 is because it will be a little easier for mom to handle as birthday / getting good grades is concerned. she spent 13 grand on a sister for my car and she wont even go on the highway... what a waste. im sure there will be quite a few parts laying around, especially if i have to find a new rear end and a front that will support brake discs. she says i could wait till i graduate and i could get a restored one. but i want something that i can learn from and work on. i have been compiling sites that list what you need for an i6 conversion. im not going to lie, i havent done a terrible amount of work on engines. the spread of my knowledge has been from reading online as well as rebuilding my dirtbike motor with my dad a couple years ago. (yes, it ran!)
