I would take back my old 77 COBRA anyday. Now that car was a blast to drive even with the Charlies Angels stripes and the 140hp V8.

kinda makes u wonder what wouldve happened if the oil embargo wouldnt have happened. i know hp ratings would have dropped still due to bitchy insurance companies but im pretty sure a 4cyl wouldnt have come within a 100ft of a stang

umm yeah lol.... ok i found production numbers, they sold over 1.1 million in 4 years - thats pretty damn impressive for a car most people hate on. if you've never experienced a II, ya gotta try it before you can knock it (thats not directed at anyone just a general statement)

My favorite hit from the "Real Mustang" guys was "that is just a glorified Pinto" to which I replied "Yea, as opposed to your glorified Falcon"That usually stopped it. If you think about it the Mustang never really shed its econocar heritage until 1979 and you could argue that it still didn’t shake it loose.
But I do love my 73 glorified Falcon convertible in the garage.

so a 1971 boss 351 is a heavy boat compared to its former years? i dont think so..it dont pan out.1971 boss 351 runs a quarter mile of 13.33 with 330 horses...it runs as fast as a bad boy 1969 big block..and its got a smaller motor with less horse power..now if its a heavy boat..how can it do that?

im not saying they're slow or anything, they just look HUGE. hate the grills, and the lines just don't flow like the earlier bodies did. again, they are still classic mustangs and are cool by me.

i look at it like this........

i would rather drive any other body style stang than a 71-73 (are we counting the vanilla fox bodied crappy cars? lol) but i would rather drive a 71-73 stang than any other model car.

my least favorite stang > any other car

{at first i hated 71-73 but they've grown on me and id get one if i could }

same here..i wanted a 69 when i was a kid..but when i had a chance to buy this one as my first car when i was 18..i jumped on it..and grown to love its styling...when i pull up to a stop light..every eye is on this ungodly lookin machine..lol..it gets alot of looks just cause its a big red beast..lol..i have pulled up to alot of other 60's and 70's mustangsto compare them...and noticed my car is longer..wider..and lower deck height and lower to the ground..kinda like a pony car took too the extreem.....each to there own on styling of cource

and sorry to go off..but i allways hear that the 71' bodieswere heavy slow turds..lol..which is not true..the 71..351 boss runs the quarter mile just as fast as a 69 mach big block 429..lol
