That could be lots of things.

I dont think it would be bad gas unless you have some high compression engine. There is the possibility with cold temps ice/water may have formed in the lines pump or filter that is causing a fuel delivery issue. I've not seen it so bad that the car won't run though. Usually a little bottle of heat would keep that out of the system though.

To eliminate if its a fuel delivery issue start at the carb and work back systematically. If it runs when you give it fuel at the engine then keep going back till you find it.

I have personally experienced your situation immeaditely (with 10 miles)after refilling. Was on a cross country trip. Fortunately, the vehicle had dual tanks and was able to keep it wound up enough (by switching tanks back and forth ) to burn it out. Did cause me to pucker little bit as it was in middle of the night on the interstate. As water is heavier than gasoline, it goes to the bottom . It could have picked up some rust and passed thru system to carb. Or, it could just be taking a snort of water once in while, making it run rough.

probably water. my buddy had that happen to him when he filled up once. if the station has crappy tanks and especially if the truck had recently refilled everything in there will be stirred up so you'll get more water. i'd drain the gas into something clear if possible, and if theres water settling at the bottom i'd take that crap back to the station and raise hell. if they dont refund your money take the container outside and start pouring around the building

just pour in some of that antiwater/freeze HEET http://www.goldeagle.com/heet/index.htmstuff. Cheap and easy, and that'll tell your problem is due to water.
