I dont think mines the same? My c4 with the B&M megashifter goes P-R-N-D(3)-2-1 and i can just shift from 1 to 2 to 3 by pressing up. But when startingin D, im not sure ifit actuallystarts in first. -Jon

Ford made what is called a Curise-O-Matic trans. ( C4 ). the shift pattern is PRN231. (3 being the green dot and D position ).

You can manually shift the trans. The only real problem is being able to hold 2nd longer than the trans desires to hold it there.

That's usually what happens when the trans is about dead, my C-4 wouldn't grab in third till i let up of the gas, then it would ease into gear.

Its easy trying to manual shift. I start out in low, and when i get ready to shift to second i shift it to regular drive, when it shifts to 2nd put it back in low real quick. This keeps it in low til about 20 mph... on my car at least, then it shifts back to first.[:@]
