Default Brake Line Question

i was going to splice into my brake line to install a proportioning valve and was wondering if anyone else has done this. i was told that you couldnt cut and double flare stainless steel lines because its too hard but when i called around people didnt seem to have a problem with it. so i wanted to know, can i do this or do i have to figure something else out?

It is hard to work with. Double flares are hard to do with regular steel. I would not waste my time with stainless.
You should avoid splices if possible and use a continuous line. I have used compression fittings in the past but this may not be legal in some states.

I guess the only way you are going to learn is to just do it. If it works, wallllahhh. If it doesn't then damn. Ya gotta go out and buy new brake lines. So what?
