ball joint goes !SNAP!
Hey guys, it's been awhile since I’ve posted anything here but I do read as much as I can while atwork.
I went home for thanksgiving and with the money I’ve been making here, I bought an aluminum 4bbl edelbrock performer intake manifold, 750cfm performer carb, an electric fan, and 3.70:1 ring and pinion for the 'ol mach!
Since I only had a month to spend with family and friends I decided I’d pay to have the 2bbl swapped to a 4 so I wouldn't have to worry about it. While it was in they rebuilt my distributor w/ electric points and rigged my electric fan up right! So after it was done I forked out about a grand (it's nice being young with a fat military paycheck... I should add, everything is pretty much paid for me here)

well one morning I got up pick up my little bro from school, while I was taking a left turn I made it about 10 feet into the middle of oncoming traffic before *POW* and it felt like I hit a wall! My car came to a complete stop while I had 2x 18 wheelers eyeing me down, so I stood on the gas and managed to smoke out both my rear tires within 30 feet trying to get off that road. when I got out of the car I had some of the worse pictures in my mind of what the damage was (i.e.: I’ve seen the tire turn perpendicular to the car itself and look might gross) what I saw was not that bad at 1st glance. The passenger tire had disconnected where the ball joint meets the spindle... but about 6"s of front finder was folded in when said tire was rolled back!
I didn't know what to think, so I called the people who work on my car and they sent out a tow truck to get me (3 hours later) BUT IT WAS FREE! And thank god they sent a flat bed.
Question: have you ever seen something so horrible that you didn't know whether to cry or vomit? That’s what I was doing when I saw my baby put on so much stress being pulled up that trailer! The tire eventually laid flat underneath the mustang!!
Well they took it apart and found out the coupling that sits on top of the ball joint... well... it fell apart in their hands! And inside was made with plastic and sheet metal (I have pictures to prove it) and upon close inspection of said ball joint, it had been stressed and cracked for about 10 years without me knowing anything about it!
I made them replace both sides and reinforce them and put them under warranty (YAY ME) *$1200 both sides*
But I’ve never seen that mustang so fast!!! I’m getting it dyno'd when I get home, I’ll keep yall informed

reminds me of me heater plenum.
In my car the hoses for the heater (inside) were disconnected.
So it might have leaked or something. so I thought I'll put it back together as otherwise I'll have no heat to defog my windscreen.
So there I sat and couldn't figure out how the heat is actually supposed to get there.
Checked on catalogues and saw that there is a heater plenum completely missing together with the duct kit and hoses.
Gone. Just not there.
On installing the new heatre plenum I found the old one. It was cardboard pieces hangoing off the heater box.
Could you believe they made a heater plenum of cardboard ? the quickest rotting material once it gets together with water or humidity ? mad !
anyways the new one works just fine,, it's made out of plastic. I can defog my windows but I'm still a bit shocked :-)
