I want to switch out my current fuel pump with one that is the correct style (filter in the cannister attached to the pump). Couple of questions: Is there any downside to this? I am not sure if these style pumps had problems.

Also, any trick to removing the old pump and installing the new one?

 

Thats an easy swap just remove and replace. I haven't heard of any problems and you get some extra filtering
