what are the rest of ur specs on the motor? and what kind of numbers u hopin to put down when u dyno it?

Sweet! Another Clevor guy. I've just finished building a roller cammed 408 Clevor, but I like to call it a BOSS 408. I used 2v heads becuse I wanted low compression so I could run 15lbs boost. My 2v heads have 76.2cc combustion chambers. That puts me at 8.9:1.
Have you figured out your intake options yet?

Originally I was going to build a 408w so the pistons are for Windsor heads.
Ran across the B&A Track Boss 351w intake, 351c conversion headers for 66, and the clevor conversion heads all near eachother at a swapmeet for a nice price.
FMS tie bar roller lifters
Crane custom size pushrods
Stainless 2.19 in valves, 1.75 ex valves, high port exhaust plates, machined for stud mount rockers, and ported
Since I'm using a Windsor cam the specs change when using 1.72 roller rockers
http://store.summitracing.com/partde...p;autoview=sku
http://www.wallaceracing.com/rockercalc.php
-- curren lift .586in/.609ex
I clayed my pv clearance and the intake valve was hitting
I used the Isky piston notcher to get .175" more clearance
- main girdle
I took a 750 Speed Demon carb and built it for blow through
http://www.hangar18fabrication.com/blowthru.html

The exhaust was tough to get to fit because the #4 and #8 tubes crossover to the opposite collector, and since the 351c has a different mounting angle than the 351w, they didn't quite line up and were 3" too short.

On top of all this I am also taking a 2004 Viper T56 and getting it to mate behind a sbf Lakewood bellhousing, no kits.

On top of all that, I'm redoing my front suspension so I haven't made any installation progress yet.

I always thought the 4v heads are more suited for Drag racing i.e. HIGH RPM speeds. The 2v heads have smaller ports, which make them better then for low torque, to get the car moving. I also heard the 185's are too big for 289's and maybe 302's because they have too big ports, so there is virtually no bottom end. Thats what i heard anyway.

one question i ahve to ask is, since im only a kid i dont have a lot of money to be replacing parts and what not, so to anyone who has used a clevor have u had any problems with it like grenading or anythin that someone with little money should be concerned about?

as long as you change the oil, use good filters, and dont spin it up so high in rpm that the rods come out, it will live just fine. A head swap doesnt hurt durability as long as they are in good shape and dont drop a valve or valve seals end up in the oil pump.

What are you going to do about the intake? Just curious, becuase they arent cheap, but they arent outrageous either.

Oh and FYI guys, the 72-74 4V heads have open chambers and lower compression, similar to the 2V heads. The 70 4vs have the smallest chambers and highest compression, the 71s are a little bigger and slightly lower compression.. Fill in the dead spots in the ports and the 4V will scream on any size engine, plus more cubes will make the same power at a lower rpm and not be affected as much by port size.

well im hopin to find one on ebay, the motor wont be here till summer and i am in no hurry to put it in the stang im also hopin to find one at carlisle car show when I go in april.. now i have to ask is the 2v open chamber heads good to use on the 302?
oh and how high should i spin it, im thinkin around 6200 or so is the redline, but someone told me the cleve heads dont make power till 6000, which is not entirely false.
