Yeah, it may have a few dirt dobber nests in it, but there is really nothing that can't be repaired or replaced due to just sitting in a garage. I clearly remember the arc welder days on the farm back in the 50's and 60's. We had a Lincoln, but it certainly wasn't a mig. It would be fun to find out the basic date the mig was available for home use. Let me do some research. This is a fun topic.

I haven't been able to find a definitive web site that states exactly when the mig was available for the general public, but this article states that the mig process wasn't totally effective until about 1962. It's a good read if you are interested.

lincolns are alright, but miller definately takes 1st. i have a millermatic 130xp 115v mig welder. i work with a profesional welder and machineist. hes got numerous patent on mufflers mainly for porsches and race cars. but i think any welder would do the job as long as its not some "potable" peice of crap for 100 bucks. just make sure itsgot an argon-mix gas with it. p.s., get a good regulator for the tank too.
