Edit: Browser hung up and resubmitted the post. Sorry.

On second edit, your 408 might possibly justify 2.75", but I think 3" is still just a little more than necessary.

One more thought: Most of the resistance to flow is in the mufflers, so 2.5" pipes, an "X", and 3" mufflers is yet another possibility.

now I'd still rather get woken up by a loud *** V8 than a loud high pitched ricer any day!
Ditto that one!!! My neighbor has a Ferrari that he drives daily - leaves at 7am - and he must wind it up to 8k before shifting into second - ANNOYING AS HELL! [:@][:@][:@]

So I don't mind coming home late at night and driving by his place with my 2.5" duals and Flow 40s.I also don't mind at all firing up the Harley at anytime of the day/night, as I did this morning...

The 67 originally had turn-downs before the rear axle. It was loud! I had the exhaust extended to exit under the rear valance, since there were already the OEM half-moon cutouts down there. Looks much better, but the sound got quieter. The fiancee liked it better before, when it was louder!

The fact that it's a Ferrari makes it even worse. I find that car-lovers, like us, are given less respect because too many of the high-line vehicles (such as a Ferrari), are owned by those who don't know how to drive them and don't even know how to turn a wrench.[:'(]

Don't mean to hijack the post - so back on topic - I've been wondering, do your rear valence have the cut-outs/indents/half-moon (or whatever you call it) for the exhaust, or is it a straight bottom? If it has the cut-outs, then go to the rear, without a doubt.
