I'm another one who needs alot of sheet metal and plan on doing everything myself latest fixures are about $3000 in just sheet metal and when its all done I should be around $30,000 in it, but it will never be sold so I don't care if it's ever worth what I have in it.

I have already spent $18,000 on a total rotisserie restortation with only body work not including panels. I still need to spend another $2000.00 and then it will be painted. That will include the work 365 hours to date at $40.00/hr and the materials. I have replaced the floor pans, some of the inner fender aprons, the fenders, shock towers, back 1/4's, trunk drop-offs, and inner wheel wells, valences etc..... hey, it was fairly rusty.I then sprayed the underneath and indside with Lizard Skin sound and ceramic coating ... another $750.00. I have also put in the Steeroids power rack and Granada spindle disc brake conversion. I swapped out the 302 for a stroked 351 (still in the crate). I have purchased all new weather stripping and chrome trim. I thought I could do the car for $40,000.00 completely but I think it will be closer to $50,000.00 ... what was I thinking? If I could do all the body work myself it would save a bunch but it may end up looking like my dry-walling ... catch a wave. The problem with redoing these cars is that once you get started you can't just stop. It's like an addiction that costs a huge amount of money. Great thing though is that you'll end up with a real nice car when your done ... something very few people have and only drool about when they see them. Good luck with your project ... it is a lot of fun and sometimes a lot of headaches too.
