Got my mustang!!!!!
Great car for that price dude, congrats! I only have two suggestions, get that inspection plate as already suggested, and paint the air cleaner the same color as the block, just my opinion. Or get a chrome air cleaner or something like that. But all in all, a very nice solid car. Great find!

Dude that looks AWSOME... great find. Don't listen to Galactz... he's just jelly. That looks way better than about 3/4ths of the ones we see people post they found on here. Congratz... and we'll talk about those wheels. *winks* BRO..

I gave him kudos (didn't you read my praises on his car?), I only stated that red interiors are not my thing, but that's just personal preference, I don't mean anything by it, and also the sagging comments was just an observation.
Yeah, I didnt' realize that the flywheel was exposed to the elements like that, especially so close to the road!! I have no idea how long that's been like that so I hope not too much damage was done. Inspection plate it is then. Everyone has said to keep the wheels it has so I guess I will. I just really think the stock hubs for '66 are neat looking. I will look into replacing that spare tire clamp as that would suck to have the tire fly through the back seat in teh event of a quick stop. I've been thinking about brakes too, I will see how I do with well maintained drums for a while. It requires more thoughtful driving and I am all for it. Here are some things I'll work on first:
new valve covers
spare tire clamp
inspection plate
shifter rebuild
maybe a chrome air cleaner
electronic ignition
Oh and also the front right headlight is out so I'll need to tackle that too.
Anyway, I appreciate ALL the great comments and I look forward to including you all in my project!

Alright, I looked through about $7,300 in receipts given to me by the previous owner. In the reciepts was one for the rebuild and installation of a '68 289! So no numbers matching here except for the actual car itstelf. It maches interior and body colors and so forth. I aint complainin though. It's not my intention to ever sell this car anyway.
Sounds like you're headed in the right direction. Starting out with the easy but necessary projects and moving on up to the "wants." Have fun and don't forget to take lots of pictures if you have a digital camera.
