Just buy a fastback, you'll save money. What it ends up costing to convert a couple to a fastback isnt really worth it. Besides, why screw up a perfectly good coupe. Sell it to someone that wants one and BUY the fastback!!

True dat, it will cost you more in the long run. Then, being a butchered coupe, it won't be worth as much as a real sportroof.

if you cant afford a fastback, then you cant afford to change a perfectly good coupe to a fastback

i have chopped a few tops on street rods and it was real fun. making a coupe in to a fastback is a waste of money and if you sell it the vin will show its a coupe so its worth less money. if you want a fastback buy one look around craigslist local news paper and http://ww2.collectorcartraderonline.com/

and on top of that a 69 would be harder then say a 68 because the quarter panels are different (i think), and has the scoop and different lines to blend and all that good stuff.

just don't do it, buy one.

How much do you think a decent c-code fastback is going for these days?

In LA I'd guess::

Non-running rust bucket - $3,000 to 5,000.

Rust bucket that runs -6,000 to 15,000

Okay shape - $15,000 to $25,000.

Nice shape 25,000 to $35,000.

Top notch 35,000 to 55,000.

Barrett-Jackson: 999,000,000 plus the 18% commission

How about prices where you live?
