Default Carb Spacer

I need to put carb spacer on my 289 performer edelbrock, 600 holley, 302 motor to get another inch for ram set up I'm doing to work. Was looking at 4 hole (heard a little better low end). Seen a couple options. A Mr gasket for $25 dollars and the attach for $90. The $90 dollar one has some twist in the bores they claim to be more effiecient. Just wonder what folks think - marketing hype?

Yep, Plywood. It works great, trust me. It's not as pretty as the phenolic spacers, but it works just like them.

I bought a 1" spacer, mounted it and started the engine, but had to pull it off because it wouldn't clear my hood with the Edelbrock RPM Air-Gap manifold (I never had a problem with a 1" spacer and an Edelbrock Performer manifold. It is the 4-hole Mr. Gasket spacer BTW. You, or anybody elsewithin the continental U.S.can have it for $15 shipped.

BTW, don't laugh at Soaring's plywood idea. You can buy wood spacers. Oh yeah, save your time CNC'ing a custom aluminum spacer, it'll pass the heat right on through to the carb.
