Tune up
word of wisdom on autozone wires though..... dont get the "premium" wires..... they are junk, i watched the spark arc thru the boot over to my header tube. grab a bosch set from autozone - they are good wires. even better would be a set of accel 8.8's, MSD's, Taylors, Moroso, or Ford Racing wires. also make sure the distributor cap has brass pieces not aluminum, the rotor too. i noticed certain applications even the "premium" cap/rotor set would still be aluminum but then going to another auto parts store their premium would be brass. that all seems to depend on the application though, sometimes autozone has the right one, sometimes advance does, etc, etc
Sorry Soaring, you're right. You just won't need a dwell meter with the Pertronix kit as the dwell will be set electronically.
I just got 9 mm Ford Racing wires for my wife's '95 Cobra, and they were only $10 more than the Bosch wires. If for nothing more than the look, it was worth $10, plus the wires were numbered, which kept it simple routing the wires back to the distributor cap on the Cobra.

snap-on FTL simply because if something breaks your tracking down a tool truck, but there are sears locations EVERYWHERE.
+ 1 billion kajillion on what everyone else said on doing your own tune ups. for the 225 you will be able to buy GOOD spark plugs, wires, cap/rotor and the petronix unit. most auto part stores have free loaner tools so you dont even need to buy a timing light.

You can get Craftsman tool at places other than Sears. Here's an online source. I like to go to the store though. That way I can hold it, feel it andplay with it before I buy it. I could spend hours in a big Sears store looking at tools.

like said above do it yourself. The first oil change I ever did myself was on my stang. I didn't know squat about cars to start with. Now I just don't know diddly, at least I know squat. Anyhew tune ups are easy. i just learnt how to do the timing while on the forums.
Plugs easy, wires easy, dizzy cap easy, changing to electonic/getting rid of points easy.
And by the way for 225 you can get a brand new pertronix pug and play billet dizzy with the ignitor II already built in. good luck.

theres no adjustment or anything. if you want to "check" it, you might as well plan on "replacing" it because it WILL be loose. chains stretch over time, and there will be slop in there. a new decent double roller chain isnt too expensive - if your going to replace its worth the extra couple bucks for a stronger unit. also, you'd be able to replace the front main seal since its in the timing cover.

kick *** chain:

great bang for the buck chain:
http://store.summitracing.com/partde...p;autoview=sku
stay away from stuff like:
http://store.summitracing.com/partde...p;autoview=sku
the last chain may look just like the middle chain but the quality differances are significant.
or you could go the route i did.....
