Go with a Holley. I bought a remanufactured 650dbl pumper /mechanical from Summit. Runs great but does take a little tuning now and again butwhen it does require maintenance, it ain't rocket science.

I would have gone with a Weiand but I ran across a great deal on the Edlebrock RPM.

That BG deal is one slick piece of EQ.

I have had both Holley and Edelbrock and in both cases was pretty good. The only issue I had with the Edelbrock was that there was a slight hesitation when jamming full throttle on the gas at idle (in park). The Endurashine protection/look would be nice but the BG has that too (not that I care about looks but if you're spending the money, why not get the looks too).

I am still considering scoring a Autolite 4100 from Ebay and having the mechanic from work help me rebuild it - but then you have the old carb with the old parts........ and spending $500 at Pony, ouch

the 625 is less than 400 on ebay, from the seller i bought my BG from.... very good customer service and the guys has a zillion transactions with great feedback. should even come with a vac secondaries spring assortment kit.

the 650 is like 450 or so and is for motors with more "nut" and bigger cams.

BG FTW!!!!!

If you do go with an Autolite4100 make sure to get the short snout model (Pony carbs has pictures on their website that shows you the difference). Pony will NOT work on the long snout carb.

If you want to go the least expensive method then score a 4100off eBay and then get a complete gasket kit from Ebay also and rebuild it yourself. (Here's the dude that sells the gasket kit for the 4100) - http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ford-...92672882QQrdZ1

You could also get Pony Carbs to do a spreadbore conversion on the 4100 - when the secondaries open up it really kicks.
