Default Electrical schematics

Hey all, I need some help. I am trying to find the electrical schematics for the dash lights. My dash lights will not work, and when I took off the gauge cluster, there is a MESS of wires, and all kinds of extra crap that has been added over the years. So I need to strip out the junk that is not needed. I bought the haynes manual, but the diagrams for the system dont really give us what we need. It is for a 66. Can someone point me in the right direction?? Thanks much.

Yeah, we have several schematics in the FAQ under Electrical down at the bottom of FAQ.

1st question,,,if your not driving it go to good will and get a beach towel ( .75 cents) and lay it on the floor and then a couple cans of carb cleaner (1 to 2.00 per can at Auto Zone)( battery dissconected) and hose it all down to get the crap off so you can read wire colors and follow the trail,,,,,

2nd deal... most stangs are so old that nothing is where it should be wiring wise..

3rd I bought a shop manual ( price ? 20 bucks E- Bay) and scanned/blew it up on my printer to give my eyes a break,,,( old fart),,,,custom labled the whole route,,,not perfect but helps,,,most scanners for pc's can be had for god knows what price range,,,thing to remember is 600-1200 DPI and fiddle whit the black and white settings ,,,save and goto local copy outfit and have them print out to 13X19 paper and !! be sure to laminate it right away.......you don't need to be an electrincian to know that there is such a thing as common lines.....be they electrical or hydrawlic and start chasing from there...

not wild about about being so short with you but am fighting rear end issues right now,,,,with my 66,repily or email will try to help when /wheeere I can
