Default Tore my nuts off!

Well, finally, after a long battle with those front strut bar nuts, I have them off. I had to borrow the biggest impact wrench from the shop and she still had troubles, but they came off. I dont know if it really matters or not, but I ran into something I wasnt sure of so I thought I'd ask it on here. The nut in front of the bushings(more towards the front of the car) had to have a 1" socket and the one behing the bushings(towards the engine) had to have a 1 1/8". I dont see how this wouldmake much difference since the hole is the same diameter, but Im curious so I thought Id see if anyone had a theory.

Yes they are different sizes.I don't really hav atheory, but it sure made it nice when I was removing mine as I only had one 1" wrench and one 1 1/8" wrench.

Yes, i took the first off and when the second wouldnt fit I was like what the hell. I'm just going to get 1" at the local hardware store, but its interesting to me why they would opt for the bigger one in the back...
