resistor wire delete...again
hey guys sorry to re-hash covered ground, but im trying to get the stang ready for the new engine.its a 65 289 4-speed car.im looking for the link for directions to bypass the pink resistor wire anf the links in the faq's arnt working for me.any help appreciated thanks!!!
I assume you are no longer running the points ignition? If you are and you bypass the wire you will 1/2 life or worse to your points. All you should need to do is look at the schematic and see where to jumper on the switch to not disconnect the straight non-resistor wire.
no points here.im running a msd 6al +distributer.i have no way to test the wires on the back of the ignition switch for12v key on because im waiting for the ups guy to drop off the rest of my stuff(soloniod, battery cables etc....)
Here is the wiring diagrams. See which one becomes the pink resistor. Best I recall it is blue/black.

The MSD box doesn't care if you have a resistor wire or not. It's only looking for the signal. The wire between your MSD box and its coil should not be a resistor wire, however.
