Asking about speed with gears:
RPM=((MPH*336*Ratio)/TireDiam)
I run out of RPM's around 130mph with my '71 recently(3.80 gear, 25.6" tall tire, 6500 rpm...starts tapering around 6k [120mph] but still pulls pretty good).

In reply to all the guys on the first page: yes he was racing. You don't pull up next to me going 45, look over at me, take off, get passed and chase me up to 128 when your not racing. A WRX STI makes 300 hp and 300lbs of torque. It weighs 3351 lbs. My car weighs 600 lbs less and makes another 100hp and 200lbs of torque. And yes, I am running a 408 stroker and a T5. I've never been beat by an import. I've only been beat twice, both times by W56 TransAms.

fast65, if you can tell me your wheel/tyre combo (225/60/15 or whatever it is), your diff ratio and your max rpm, i can give you an answer.

Topped my 98 out at 120 when it hit the governer and still pulling. Pretty good I think for a 232.
Alas, the fastest the 67 went was about 1mph when I pushed it into the garage where it sits.
