Default 65 steering gear box

Does anyone know how to remove the steering shaft from the gear box on the 65 stang. It seems to be one piece going into the gear box. When I removed the gear box I removed it as one piece. I was going to replace with a 16 to 1 gear box. can this be removed ordo I have to buy the whole setup?
Thanks
Johnny

Unfortunately the shaft and the box are one piece. You need to buy the whole shebang.
