Probably either need to clean up the contact points on the unit, or replace it with a new one.

Bulb filament has a slight break in it cuasing it to work on level surfaces but when on inclines or declines the filament is slightly apart not allowing current to breat on and off??? Just a guess?? Try changing the bulb.

Good luck!!

You might also check your external bulbs, check for loose bulbs or the assy. to bulb contactsin the light assemblys. If allbulbs are not working, (depending on the type of flasher you are using), the blinkers may flash slow, or not at all. "Standard duty" flashers depend upon the current draw at the light bulbs to trigger the "blinking".

I know that this is somewhat basic, but you need to be sure that you have goodcontact all the time.99% of the time, if the exterior lights come on but do not flash when you turn on the turn signal the problem is with the flasher, or the lights are not drawing enough current to activate the flashers.

You can avoid this problem altogether by installing "heavy duty flashers", this type of flasher is not dependent upon the exterior lights to cycle the flasher. (you do know that there are 2 flashers, 1 for hazards, and 1 for blinkers?)

Apoor groung at either the front marker lights or the tail lights could cause this issue as well. If the tail light assys. were loose, they may not make agood ground depending on the angle your car is sitting. A poor ground should cause the light(s) affected to be either dim, intermitantly dim, non functional, or intermitantly non functional. Check to make sure your tail lights are tight.

Thanks for the info ill look at a few more of the contacts. I know that there are 2 flasher units one for the hazard and one for the turn signals. I dont think its a short in the bulb the problem is not that they will not come on but that they stay on. I'm not really sure how all of the wireing is its all origanal but the cars in pretty decent shape. guess its time to break out the volt meater and poke around a little.
