shock install question
I am installing new steering and suspension parts - shelby drop, new control arms, tie rods, rack and pinion, granada disk brake kit, shocks, sway bars, etc. My question is this - should the shock be pointing to the outside of the car - I have to push it in with a bit of force to get in the center of the mount so I can screw it down tight??
Also, I just want to confirm that the springs go right on the rubber pieces of the saddle on the upper control arm - they don't require insulators or anything (the manual doesn't show this but the vendor sent me 2 pairs of insulators so I am a bit puzzled as to why I have 4 instead of just 2)??
Thanks in advance for the input!

thanks, when I get home tonight I will post pics. Essentially, the shock tube is leaning against the shock tower pushing toward the outside of the car. I pushed it over and screwed the shocks into the mount bracket - was this a wrong move?
It seems odd that the shock not be in the middle - that said, I am putting the pieces on the front end and there is no weight there (engine compartment stripped to shell) - will it get better aligned when there is the right amount of weight on the car?

I just spoke with the guys at American Pony where I bought my stuff and the guy said "you are really going to have a hard time getting that in there with the engine out" and I can say that he was right. He also mentioned that everything should be ok and that they have a lifetime warranty so if anything ever went bad, they would replace for free (or, he said to go to any store that sells KYB shocks and they would replace without any issues regarding installation).
Relieved, as I start to putting the car back together, it sures is much harder than stripping it to the shell.....
