Probably willing to chat with you more now that this thread got started. Wonder if they peruse this forum?
I've ordered from them before - stuff is ok. I have liked the items I received from Mustang's Unlimited better though.

Sorry, we are increasingly a country full of dumb *****,,,
butpeople still surprise me, I don't know why, I should know better!!Times have changed, it used to be that people who displayed ignorance kwew it, because other people would tell them, now it is politically incorrect to do so. This has had implications,In the past, most dumb asses would keep their mouth's shut, and keep their ignoranceas their own little secret, now they are outspoken and are determined to show the worldjust how ignorant they really are. wow!

Ah, memories. This reminds me of the first fiberglass part I got for my . . . What is was makes no difference. Fiberglass parts usually need a lot of 'fitting'. Your hood seems to be to your liking. It's the poor fit on the trunk lid. Well, that's one advantage of a fiberglass part. You can 'fit' it. If it don't 'fit', you cut it, grind it, add someresin and matting and sand it. You make it work. If you want a perfect fit, go to a shop. If you can't afford the price, learn how to do it yourself. In the end you will have a bit of satisfaction.

To eZ's defense, there is a HUGE gap between where the tail of the deck lid is and should be. You'd have to hack that thing open and stuff a decent amount of resin in there to get it to fit perfectly. I'd say that would take about a 22* wedge to put it where it belongs.
If it don't take time, money or work, it ain't worth it!
This is the exact reason i love sheet metal...But let me tell you guys with fiber fenders or deck lids hoods etc...you guys have my upmost respect because you put up with so much crap for good fit while if you buy a good oem or ford tooling sheet metal piece you can almost unload from the box and put it in..

...The owner of Maier Racing also told me to release the spring tension bar in the trunk because it will cause the trunk to bow. He told me the same thing for the hood. No springs.

eZ, I've never seen you're car or know its history, but by chance has the car ever seen any rear end damage by a PO or anything of that sort? I'm not knocking the fact that that deck lid is waaay off (cuz it is), but if the car has had any rear end damage, that could emphasize the poor fitment even more.
I just read how you waited two years with this hood, so I had to go back. I found a few things I wanted to point out.
Looking at those pictures, it definatly looks as if someone took some sand paper to the deck lid edges.
Once again, they advertise you WILL NOT be able to just bolt the thing on. You do have to do some finishing work. That is more than likely what they meant when they told you "this is how they come".

I do agree that gap is a bit much, but as another member said, it could very well be caused by accident damage. Maybe something happened in the 2 years you had the deck lid, since you obviously didn't install it the day you got it, that caused it to warp and flex out like that.
I dunno what caused what. Personally, if the other guys here managed to get good parts from MP without the problem you have, don't you think you could have just gotten a defective part? Why do you think that two years later they won't exchange it for you?
I just sold a PS2 and my 66 gauges on ebay. If the guy calls me up in two weeks telling me one of them don't work and he wants his money back, okay fine. If he gets a hold of me 2 years from now and says I sold him a defective part, I'm gonna tell him to go suck a lemon. They have no obligation to refund or exchange a part two years after the fact cause they have no idea what you have done to it and it really doeslook as if someone sanded down the edges a little bit.

I have not sanded on it
I have not sanded on it
i tried resolving this matter a long time ago with you guys and i was told that the trunk lids come that way.
Having found out that this was untrue, you can see i am upset with having to spend another $400 on another lid somewhere else. Thank you for your response. I will take my business else where.

EZ, definitely send them more pictures. If a piece of fiberglass isbad enough, it should be replaced N/C. But waiting this long could cause problems.
When I went to pick up my fiberglass (250 miles from my home, but not the only thing I was picking up) I was lucky enough that the guy selling me the pieces had a whole trailer load to go through. He hand picked the best pieces. And I can tell you, manyof the other ones would not be usable. Probably just anemployee picking out your fiberglass and shipping whatever he picked up.
