kick-down rod

ok i just descovered that my kick-down rod isnt hooked up which would help explain the difficulty i have been having in breaking the tires loose . what does it hook to?

Everything but a transmission - which is where a kick-down rod goes.

look where the sift linkage connects there should be an small lever arm that it hook to

ok i see where it is supposed to go but i guess im missing some kind of cable or something to connect the rod to the lever on the tranny.

the rod should have a hole in the center with a plastic bushing and an e clip i believe

The kickdown doesn't have anything to do with you breaking your tires loose. It just shifts to a higher gear when the pedal is floored.

lol it has everything to do with breaking my tires loose...lower gearing=tires smoking . like they would still squeal when i took off but not nearly as good as they do when im shifted into L...looks like once i get this fixed im going to be going through tires a lot faster
