Default Nightmare

My 67 vert arrived last night. What was supposed to be a time of joy turned into a night mare. I had the car shipped from Washington state to Houston Texas. The driver drove the car up to my house. The truck was parked about 1/2 mile away. There is a trail of water that runs about 1,000 feet on the street with a puddle under the car where they parked it infront of my house. The stang smelled like it was burning up. The odomotor reedings reflest that while in possession of the shipping company they drovethe car 9 miles. I guess the driver needed something to drive to dinner each night. While I was looking for the water leak I fount the cause. There was a shipping strip wedges between the radiator and the car frame. They could not get it free so they cuit it and left it hanging. The frame is actually bent from the strap. [:@]
I do not know what the extend of the damage to the car is. I could not get a good look at the dark. ALso since it can not be driven I could not tell how it runs.

Make sure that you have the "time stamp" set correctly on your camera and turned on too.

No telling what they did with the car & how they drove it.I can't believe they would do something so
unprofessional. If you do not get satifaction, you definitely need to get an attourney involved. That is such BS. I would have had a cow !

The scene that keeps running through my head is these two guys from the shipping company in my car with the top down doing hole shots! White smoke boiling up from the finder wells. I could not get to sleep last night thinking about it. I went today at lunch and bought a 4 row radiator. Since they are paying for it then she will get the best. After I get the radiator on I will take the car to a mechanic and have his do a complete once over.
I contracted with a shipping broker to move the car. At least they are working with me. I found out today that they have not paid the shipper yet for the transport. They told me that they are with holding payment until this is resolved.
I can’t believe people would do this. They were hoping that I would not notice the hedge water puddle under the car and sign the bill of lading. Then they would be on their way. They had to gall to tell me that they did not cause the damage. One of them called their boss and handed me the phone, he said that they are not responsible for any engine damage. My wife had to call the sheriff because they would not give me the keys to the car since I would not sign the bill of lading releasing them from liability. They changed their mind when my wife came out and said they two sheriffs were on they way. They got their 5 minutes after they two drivers left. They helped me push the car up the drive way and into the garage. I have not had this car very long but I am very much attached to it. My dad bought a 67 new in 1967 when he returned from viet nom. I grew up hearing about his first NEW car.

DUDE, +1 on not signing that thing. Sounds like you got-em. Sorry you had to go through it. I wonder how many other folks, they did this to and got away with it. If you get an attorney involved, he will get a writ of discovery and find out all of their other clients and interview them. Then they may end up with many more suing them. Tell them that if they give you any crap!

In the end, I hope the guys working for that company get Don Imus'ed.
