Turn Signal & Brake Light Issues
Well.... We just picked up this car about a week ago now, and we're trying to figure out what the problems are and how int he world to fix em!
I've got a '67 Coupe, 289, 3spd -- And heres the current issues:
Turn Signals are not actviating outside.
Brake lights not activating.
The tail lamps work (when turning headlights on, everything comes on all around).
The hazzards work all around.
The interior dash turn signal indicators work.
Everything "clicks" inside when the signals are activated, but nothing outside.
I originally thought it was the flasher that needed replacd, but if it were that, it wouldn't be flashing inside too -- or would it? Because everything is clicking inside as well, I don't think it is the turn signal switch or cam... Any advice or other ideas?
I'm quite sure the brake lights probably are not activating due to a bad brake switch, which I'm going to replace tomoorrow -- but I thought i'd mention it incase there might be something else that'd be wrong and fix it.
Thanks in advance!

Often times, light issues are caused by old wiring and poor grounds. If you haven't already downloaded all the schematics for you car...that would be the first task.
Tail lamps are especially succeptable to ground issues. Trace all the wiring in your truck area... ensure all the wires are in good condition, and clean/reset the ground points. Also pull your bulbs and take some steel wool and clean the connector contacts.

Based on your list of what works and what don't, it seems to be the turn signal switch. And JamesW is correct, get a schematic. The 67 Mustang/Comet/Failane Service manual is a good start. I'm using the 67 Mustang Electrical Assembly Manual published by Jim Osborn Reproductions available at most catalog stores. In fact, get the whole set.

if you check the 67 wiring diagram, you'll see that the 67 models have 2 flashers.
one for indicator and one for hazard lights. So from what you describe I would have said the flasher for indication.
As you say it works on the inside, the flasher must be ok as inside and outside use same flasher.
Stoplight and indicator are same bulb. So i'd say maybe the bulb is dead. But you say it doesn't work in front either.
So we'll go the otehr way round.
check your brake light switch. for this turn on ignition and pull the 2 cables from the brake light switch.
Shortwire the 2 cables (connect one with a wire to the other). Then check if your stop light comes on
If they don't check the bulbs first. if they do exchange your brake light switch
let us know how you get on

Upon further review, based on what kalli said, a question: you said 'Everything "clicks" inside when the signals are are activated, but nothing outside'. Please define when the "clicks" are heard, when the turn signal are activated or when the emergency flasher is activated. Do the jumper thing on the brake switch in any case, a paper clip works just fine.

i understood it as that the indicator lights on the instrument clusters come on, but the lights at the car don't. hope that's right ...
and on the other hand I just read that all lights work when hazards are on
So that must mean the bulbs are ok.
weird issue. ... lemme check the diagram again
