Default torque

well I know the question "how many horsies am i making" is asked about 70 times a week, but I was wondering how much torque im making
the car has a 289 with edelbrock performer RPM airgap intake, patriot long tube tri y headers, 650 cfm holley 4 barrel carb, and flowmaster dual exhaust. i know these motors are pretty torquey and i was just wondering HOW torquey. thanks guys

well assuming u had a c code and basically upgraded to a A code engine with the 4 bbl which was rated at 300 ft lbs. with the intake and basically full exhaust id guesstimate almost another 30-40 since freeing up the back pressure really helps out tons....i know it did for me....maybe in the neighboorhood of 330-340ish

spend $50 and get it dynoed

Yeah, I agree. Without a dyno all we would be doing is guesstimating.

ya these cars all seem to have their own personality from car to car and after 40 years the numbers tend to be...off. that's not even counting the fact that most of these cars were underrated especially in torque
